Lunching With Books and the Pontotoc, MS Friends of the Library

Author Susan Cushman returns to Pontotoc, Mississippi, to one of the libraries that inspired her short story collection FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY. Susan spoke to the Pontotoc Friends in 2017, about her novel Cherry Bomb. Gerald Waldrop, who played the piano for the Pontotoc luncheons, was the inspiration for “Robert Earl” in the story placed in Pontotoc. Sadly, Gerald has passed away since Susan’s first visit. Susan hopes the Friends will enjoy the story he inspired.
