This will be a short post, because I’m sharing an interview I gave at ROOTED MAGAZINE recently.
“Mississippi Expat: Susan Cushman” is kind of like a mini-memoir of my relationship with my home state. It also mentions my novel JOHN AND MARY MARGARET.
Lauren Rhoades, the founder and editor of ROOTS is an import to Mississippi, and I love her take on it. I discovered the magazine because my Mississippi friend and fellow author Ellen Ann Fentress was featured in an interview there last July, and her book THE STEPS WE TAKE: A MEMOIR OF SOUTHERN RECKONING was chosen as Roots’ first book club selection, for January of 2024.
